BEN DID GO 9.0 | RECAP 2024

Saturday, September 14, 2024

The Ben Did Go 9.0 returned on Saturday, September 14, marking another unforgettable chapter in an event that continues to push limits and bring people together for a powerful cause.

What began in 2015 as an ambitious idea by Spencer Pirdy has grown into an annual athletic challenge of true scale. Each year, dedicated watermen and women prone paddle 30 miles across the Channel—from Catalina to Newport Beach—testing their endurance while raising critical funds for the Ben Carlson Memorial & Scholarship Foundation.

This year’s paddle was nothing short of incredible. With support pouring in from around the world, the Foundation is on track to raise over $250,000. The outpouring of generosity and encouragement from the global community has been both humbling and energizing.

Funds raised through the Ben Did Go 9.0 directly support international lifeguarding initiatives and scholarships for student athletes—extending Ben’s legacy through action, service, and opportunity.

Thank you to our generous sponsors and everyone who made this year’s paddle possible.
